JAMES DEMETRO
Jim’s sculptures are inspired by his fascination
of the human form. His work depicts the warmth and sensitivity of the
child/adult interaction in the unending cycle of life. The sculptures are
dynamic both in form and function. Most of them incorporate the use of or
fire to enhance the theme of the pieces. Each reflects love, harmony, and
the unconditional respect for all life.
“I choose bronze as my media of expression,
because it has the exceptional qualities of high detail, flexibility, and
longevity. Bronze has withstood the test of time for thousands of years.”
Jim is essentially a self-taught sculptor with
an engineering background. His work in the industrial process control field
has taken him to most parts of the U. S. and the four corners
of the world. Through his travels, Jim has been inspired by the best art and
artists of the world. His works are featured in collections throughout the
country with public installations at the St. Louis University, St. Louis,
MO., Metroplex Telephone Co. in La Center, WA., Harmony Park in Mossyrock,
WA., Heathman Lodge in Vancouver, and private collectors including singer
Connie Stevens, Phil Knight, president of Nike, and actor Tom Cruise. |
