WILLIAM GALVEZ
William Galvez is a classically trained painter
with Renaissance overtones who has managed to float into the twentieth
century. At the age of fourteen he was accepted to the Conservatorio de
Bellas Artes, one of the most prestigious Art Academies in Columbia. Then,
inevitably, he turned to the United States where his reputation had preceded
him.
In the last few years, Galvez has given full
play to his mastery of classic realism which he sees as truth and beauty.
His works of art have a jewel-like quality seldom seen in painting today. He
is unashamed of his prodigious technical skills. In fact, he flaunts it,
almost daring the viewer not to become involved in the richness, luminosity,
and minute details of his trompe-l’ oeil style.
Recently, Galvez was invited and has accepted to
become a member of the acclaimed International Guild of Realism.
Appreciation in value has been the rule for Galvez’s paintings and his
reputation continues to flourish in the discriminating word of Art.
