ANDREA GAYE
“Painting has always been a part of my life, and
lack of it impossible to imagine. I want to bring the viewer into my world
- to share with me the feel of water caressing warm sand, the concentration
of children at play, the lovely nuances of light and color. To capture a
moment in time.
Andrea Gaye’s
impressionistic oil paintings are a celebration of life. A painter since
early childhood, Andrea first exhibited in London, England in a national
children’s competition at age 11. She studied at Brighton School of Art in
England and spent a year of independent study in Paris, France. Her
colorful paintings reflect the influence of her mentor, the noted Spanish
painter Sebastian Capella.
Andrea is recognized widely
for her casual portraits of children at play at the beach. Her colorful
paintings also include landscapes and still lifes. “Whatever the subject
matter, I am drawn to the interplay of light and shadow and its effects on
color to create the mood I am after.”
This award winning artist
and teacher has exhibited throughout the United States and overseas. |
