JAMES HAIRE
James Haire is a Hoosier by birth, but
grew up in the Chicago area of Illinois. His early interest
in art led him to pursue a painting degree at Northern Illinois
University. While at Northern earning his B.F.A. he developed an interest in
sculpture.
In 1982 he moved to Colorado where he furthered
his knowledge of bronze casting while working for Art Casting of Colorado.
One of his dreams while at college was to eventually cast a life-size
figure. Jim has realized this dream many times over. He has now placed
eight pieces in the Chicago area as well as many others through out the
country. Some of the public venues where his sculptures may be found are
Mesa County Public Library in Grand Jct. Colorado: City Hall in Itasca,
Illinois; Woodridge Community Pool, Illinois and the Gart Office building,
Cherry Creek, Colorado. His joy in the human figure is evident in his many
sculptures of children. He strives to constantly imbue his figures with
deep emotion, spirited movement, dynamic composition and a little bit of
humor.
