ERIC POULSON
The beauty of coastal California
and its Spanish heritage inspires Eric Poulson. Evocative of the
sun-drenched ocean community his paintings reflect the essential tranquility
and serene beauty of California. Eric's impressionist style combines vivid
color and heavy texture to bring his surroundings to life.
Eric was born and raised in
Arizona where his early interest in art was channeled into
oil painting under rigorous, albeit slightly unorthodox, instruction. In
his original home of Scottsdale, Eric honed his skills in front of art
enthusiasts and curious onlookers alike, as much of his instruction took
place on the floor of a local art gallery during business hours. In
addition, he attended the Scottsdale Artists' School, where he learned from
artists such as Jo-Anna Arnett and Robert "Shoofly" Shuefelt. His work soon
gained recognition.
Eric's eleven years of
painting have been complimented by successful endeavors into other visual
disciplines such as graphic art, computerized animation and website design. Although Eric is experienced in many artistic mediums, oil on canvas
continues to be his first choice. |
